He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrence Merrigan and Sarah Merrigan (Hawco); his wife Marcella Merrigan (Woodrow); his siblings, Terrence (Marie) and Mary (Joseph Stortz); and his son-in-law Frank Cahill.
He is survived by: his children, Mary, Terry (Cathy), Ellen (Eugene), Patrick (Joanne), Clarence (Sydney), Laurie (Marilyn) and Sarah; his brother Clarence (Marjorie) of Toronto; and his grandchildren, Dana (Michael), Laura (Morgan), Melissa, Andrea (Derek), Ryan (Sharon), Neil (Emily), Mark (Jillian), Emily (Jeffery), Breanna (James), Sydele (Matt), Linnea (John), Michael (Maddie), Erin, Heather and Andrew (Jessica).
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made in his loving memory to St. Patrick's Church, Carbonear. No flowers by request.
