He was predeceased by: his siblings, John, Myles (Marina) and Viola; and his parents, John Sweeney and Lillian Sweeney (Newman).

He is survived by: his friends, Austin and Jean Randell; his wife Gillian (Cottrell); his children, Denise Noel (Carbonear), Shawn (Rachael), Simone Keough (Trevor) and Robin Sweeney Jackson (Cameron); his grandchildren, Kevin, Sasha, Caitlyn, Alyssa, Adam, Sarah, Myles, Tess, Tanner, Liam, Cole and Edie; and his great grandchildren, Kaedence, Xavier, Logan, Kacey and Keelan.

A gathering in celebration of his life for family and friends will be held from 3-5 p. m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 (COVID-19 Rules Apply) in the Lindsay Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P. O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0.
