He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jim and Ella Mercer; his brothers, Edward, Harvey (Catherine) and Eric (Faye); his stepbrothers, Harold, Ken and Frank; his close friend Val Slaney; Ches Stone.
He is survived by: his brothers, Esau (Evelyn) and Angus (Jessie); and his close friends, Florence, Tony, Georgina Clarke (Chris), Lawrence Russell and Scott (Lori Hudson).
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at SLADE'S FUNERAL HOME, CRANES ROAD, UPPER ISLAND COVE on Tuesday: 2-5 P.M. & 7-8:30 P.M., In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to the Baccalieu Trail SPCA.
