He was predeceased by : his parents, Hedley Brenton and Winnifred Brenton; his sisters, Shirley Smith and Jacqueline Coats; his siblings-in-law, Eli Rideout, Hubert Head and Maisie Brenton; his parents-in-law, Alfred Pickett and Emma Pickett; and his nephew Jason Pickett.

He is survived by : his wife Nita; his children, Jerome (Lori) of Trinity and Tina (Jamie) of St. John; his grandchildren, Jeremy Brenton of Fort McMurray, Shawna Brenton and Jason Waterman of St. John; his siblings, Bernice Rideout of Gander, Christine Head of Gander Bay, Myrtle Holloway (Gerry) of Labrador City, Clarence Brenton of Gander Bay and Leo Brenton (Terry) of Ontario; his brothers-in-law, Alfred Pickett (Sadie) of St. John, Brian Smith of Welmont, NS and Maxwell Coats of Gander Bay; his nephews, Jonathan Pickett (Nicole), Brayden and Ben; and his niece Emma. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Watson's memory to The Brenton Family.
