He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmanuel Matthews and May Matthews; his wife Edna; his daughter-in-law Cathy; and his siblings, Maude, Dorcas, Julie, Jane, Sues and Gilbert.

He is survived by: his children, Lewis, Carl (Darlene) and Trina (Wade); his grandchildren, Cory, Christopher, Joey, Jeremie and Amber; and his great grandchild Emily (Nelson Kettle).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Church.
