We bid farewell to Irene Matthews (Channel-Port-aux-Basques, Newfoundland), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 5, 2025 at the age of 84. Irene touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Young and Mildred Young; her husband Isaac Matthews; her brother Ralph Young; and her siblings-in-law, Betty Young, Viola Young, Marc Boudreau and James Shears.
She is survived by: her sons, Brent and Colin (Candace); her grandsons, Isaac and Samuel; and her siblings, Marie Boudreau, Blanche Shears, Rod (Colleen) and Morris. She is also survived by her family, especially her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Charles L. LeGrow Healthcare Foundation or to a charity of one's choice.
