He was predeceased by : his parents, Cyril Small and Clara Small; his parents-in-law, Chesley and Hazel Pelley; his brothers, Elmer (Gladys) and Melvin (Jean); and his sister-in-law Marion (Roy).

He is survived by : his wife Phyllis; his children, Brian (Sheila), Lynn (Mark) and Joy (Louis); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle), Jamie, Andrew, Robyn, Amy and Ian; his great grandchildren, Sawyer, Hunter and Faith; his brother Roy (Doreen); his siblings-in-law, Shirley Jenkins, Gladys Small, Florence Gillard and Fred Pelley (Chris); and his caregiver Sylvia Little. He is also survived by nephew, nieces, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to The Janeway Children's Hospital.
