She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Samways and Ethel Samways; her siblings, Levi, Isaac Samways and Mabel Mayo; and her siblings-in-law, Doreen Samways and Randell Mayo.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Kovacs (Chris); her granddaughter Emma Walters; her stepgrandchildren, Jamieson Kovacs (Stephanie) and Caileigh Kovacs; her siblings, Leonard Samways, Gus French (Heather), Rose Dwyer and Valerie Critch (Sterling); her sister-in-law Gloria Wendover; her cousin Judy Mercer; Cynthia and Lewis Boyd.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church (130 Neck Rd, Coley's Point South, NL A0A1X0).
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Emma's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society NL Chapter, The Agnes Pratt Home Foundation for Senior Recreation or a charity of one's choice.
