He was predeceased by : his wife Emily; his children, Marilyn and Rodney; his parents, Bill and Irene; his parents-in-law, Fanny and Leonard Porter; his siblings, Bill (Maxine) and Marina (Wildred); and his son-in-law James Caravan.

He is survived by : his daughter Mary; his grandchildren, Shaun (Ashley), Kristen (Thomas) and Katie (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Claire, Colin, Brody, Mallory and Marshall; his siblings, Mary (Bill) and Lloyd (Janet); his son-in-law David Butt (June); his close friends, George and Linda McDonald; and his caregiver John Porter. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends.
