He was predeceased by : his daughter Andrea; his parents, Martin Young and Carrie Vineham of Twillingate; his siblings, Herbert, Emma (Ira), Louise, Walter (Maisie) and Bert; and his son-in-law Larry Nicholas.

He is survived by : his wife Sylvia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of extended family and friends.
