He is survived by : his spouse Loletta Lilly; his children, Josephine McDonald (Dave Surette), David McDonald (Tracy Loveless), Jerrett McDonald (Victoria Benoit), Gerard McDonald (Paula Lambert) and Lori Ann McDonald (Scott Benoit); his grandchildren, Sebrina Jeddore, Shenisa Strickland, Zoe McDonald (Kody Williams), Grant McDonald (Riley Mullins), Emma McDonald, Tyrone McDonald, Meghan McDonald, Sophie Surrette and Brady McDonald; his great grandchildren, Jameson John, Bentley MacNeil, Jase MacNeil, Ryder MacNeil, Everly MacNeil and Evelyn Faulkner; and his siblings, Ivan McDonald and Linda Joe. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
