He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Gilley and Freda Gilley; his wife Angela Gilley; his siblings, Gerald, Thomas Gilley and Louella; and his close friend Billy Power.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph, Debbie (Gord) and Kevin; and his siblings, Seymour (Iris), Irene (Clarence), Lizzie (Tom), Iris (Eric), Joyce (John), Nancy (Howard), Joan (Albert), David (Susan), Dan (Leah), Dempsey (Wendy), Neila (Forward), Julie (Don), Leona (Monty) and Ben (Mary).
