He was predeceased by: his parents, Kate Duffy and Manny Duffy. He is survived by: his children, Devin and Jacqueline (Brandon); his grandson Liam; his sisters, Pat (Wayne), Josephine (John), Marlene (Brent) and Kristina "Sis" (Billy); his nephew Dale (Shareen); his nieces, Leverne (Kary) and Cathy (Dawson); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Karilee, Khloe, Seth, Chase, Camden and Sarah; his pets, Jesse and Woody; his partner Marcheta Hussey; and his close friend Freddie. He is also survived by family members and friends.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in memory of Rick to the Humber Arm South Volunteer Fire Department.
