With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Selina Mary Critchley (Corner Brook, Newfoundland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ebbert Plowman and Mary Plowman (Lowe); her husband John Critchley; her son Kenneth Critchley; her parents-in-law, William and Katherine Critchley (Patey); her siblings, Edward, Nelson and Rita (Doug); her siblings-in-law, Edwin, James Cecil (Alice), Elizabeth, Agnes, Lucy Critchley and Cecelia Plowman; her sons-in-law, Dion White and Rendell House; and her close friend Beth Payne.
She is survived by: her children, Sabrina (Tyrone), Darlene, Eric (Nancy), George (Cavell), Brendon (Rodina) and Katie (Darren); her grandchildren, Chelsea (Keith), Kyle (Haley), Kayla, George, Angela, Stephen (Courtney), Sara (Vinson), Kenny (Kayla) and Adrian Sparkes; her great grandchildren, Lincoln and Kai; her pet Molly; her siblings, Martin (Josephine), Stanley, Madeline and Olive (Vince); and her sisters-in-law, Genny Plowman, Hilda Plowman and Neta Critchley. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 4th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the St John the Divine Anglican Church (1 Church of England Road, Port Saunders, Newfoundland). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Sandy Cove Interfaith Cemetery.
