He was predeceased by : his son Chad Barnes; his parents, Roland Barnes and Phoebe Barnes; his grandparents, William Hussey, Emma Hussey, Frederick Barnes and Martha Barnes; and his nephew Eddy Brake.

He is survived by : his wife Wanda Lee; his sons, Brandon, Fort McMurray, Zechariah (Chelsea) and Aaron (Kassandra); his grandchildren, Arabella and Ryan; his parent-in-law Gordon; his siblings, Brada Kennedy (Alex), Geneva Laing, Betty Laing (Bill), Gerald (Rita), Darrin (Helen), Dennis, Randolph McCarthy and Ruby Gillam; his brothers-in-law, Gordon Jr. (Jeannie) and Robert (Krista); his aunts, Dorothy Parsons, Trout River, Florence Bennett and Dinah Hussey; his pets, Jake and Jasper; and his close friend Henry Morgan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
