It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald Barter of Creston, Newfoundland, born in Burgeo, Newfoundland, who passed away on January 21, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his daughter Paula Barter; his parents, James Barter and Susanna Barter; his sister Cynthia McNeil; his parents-in-law, James and Gladys Durnford; and his brothers-in-law, Calvin and Samuel Durnford.

He is survived by: his children, Paul Barter (Michelle) and Nadine Barter of Paradise; his grandchildren, Brie Cousins and Reid; his brothers, Clyde Barter (Elizabeth) of Creston South, Roy Barter (Ann) of Creston South, Roland Barter (Ruth) of Winterland and Alvin Barter (Sharon Sinnott) of Port Kirwan; his brother-in-law David McNeil of Creston South; his wife Melida Durnford of Francois Newfoundland; and his grandson Mason.

The Barter Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home in Creston South on Sunday, January 23rd and Monday, January 24th from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm While following the current COVID 19 restrictions, this will be a walk through visitation, only one household bubble can visit at a time.
