He was predeceased by: his sister Carrie; his parents, Frederick Rogers and Edna Rogers; his stepmother Beulah Rogers; his sister Eileen; his brothers-in-law, William Emberley and Roland Stuckless; his niece Winnie Bell Emberley; his parents-in-law, Albert and Margaret Hillier; and his close friend Ross Mayo.

He is survived by: his wife Violet; his children, Jeff (Danielle) and Melissa (Tim); his grandsons, Tyler, Brandon and Mason; his brother Gerald (Donna); and his siblings-in-law, Mary (Harold), Susan (Frazer), Jean (Adrian), Heather (Elvis), Eric (Betty), Gordon (Sharon), Calvin, Harvey and Fred.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Reuben's memory may be made to St. Michael's Church or Burin Peninsula Ground Search & Rescue.
