It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rose Slaney (Creston, Newfoundland), who passed away on June 7, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rose Slaney to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Cuza and Gabrielle Cuza; her son Leon Slaney; her son-in-law Clarence Moulton; and her siblings, Germaine Walsh (Peter), Simone Elliott (George), Louis, Andre, Joseph Cuza and Clem Benteau (Kate).
She is survived by: her husband Leo; her children, Theresa Moulton of Burin, Gary Slaney (Roxanne) of Burin, Lisa Slaney (Brendan Isaacs) of St. Lawrence, Lloyd Slaney (Jackie) of Paradise, Mark Slaney (Yvonne Feltham) of Halifax, NS and Linda Willan (Jon-Richard) of St. John's; and her daughter-in-law Madeline Slaney of Burin. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of extended family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church (23 Water St E, Saint Lawrence, NL A0E2V0). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church (23 Water St E, Saint Lawrence, NL A0E2V0).
In Rose's memory, in-lieu of flowers, donations may be made to U.S. Memorial Health Centre or St. Thomas Aquinas R.C. Parish, St. Lawrence.
