He was predeceased by: his wife Nellie (Giles); his parents, Bessie Simms and Cecil Simms; his parents-in-law, Norman Giles and Lillian Hillier; his brothers, Cyril (Edith), Glen, Wilbert, Lloyd (Vera) and Roy; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Langdon, Norman Giles Jr., Lise Giles and Jean Giles.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Jason Simms (Michelle), Lori-Ann Warren (Jamie), Wanda Humphries (Tom) and Wendy Mollendyke (Paul); his grandchildren, Serena, Crystal, Jason, Wayne, Jennifer, Brooke, Jack, Madison, Joshua and Samuel; his great grandchildren, Logan, Dylan and Yun; his brother Woodrow Simms (Joy); and his siblings-in-law, Glenda Simms, Yvonne Giles, Vivian Andrews (Eugene), Sylvia Giles (Roy), Maxwell Giles (Rhodena) and John Giles (Joan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Parsons Funeral Home (63 Main St N, Deer Lake, NL A8A1X1). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church (45 Bennett Ave, Deer Lake, NL A8A1B2).
