He was predeceased by: his son Ivan Derick; his parents, Samuel Elliott and Emmaline Elliott; and his siblings, James, Lawrence, Mary, Gordon, Effie, Aramanda, Ivy, Florence, Baxter and Dulcie.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy; his children, Marilyn Jerrett (Randy), Rex (Theresa) and Rozlyn Ricketts (Kenneth); and his grandchildren, Stephen, Jeremy, Leona, Mark, Megan, Danielle and Michael. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
