With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of June (Ivy Meta) Sparkes of Deer Lake, Newfoundland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 5, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Russell Sparkes; her parents, Stafford Williams and Bride Williams; her brother Max; her sister-in-law Cecelia Williams; her sister Joy; her brother-in-law Steve Mills; her daughter-in-law Lori-Ann Sparkes; her parents-in-law, Morgan and Monica Sparkes; her brother Milton; her sister-in-law Cherry Sparkes; her sister Betty (Raymond); and her siblings-in-law, David Guy and Edna Affleck.
She is survived by: her partner Leslie Canning; her children, Paul, Gary (Ruby), Jerry (Gesil), Carol-Ann (Bill), Tyrone and Sherrie-Lynn (Brendan); her grandchildren, Paul Jr., Stephen (Ashley), Devon (Lee Anna), Christopher, Jonathan (Jamie), Stephanie (Sean), Cameron, Ethan (Nadine), Scotty, Kayla, Zachary (Brittany), Michelle (Michael), Evan, Vanessa (Sarah), Victoria (Jonathon) and Joshua (Jenny); her siblings, Harvey (Marjorie), Lorne (Joan), Primrose (Albert), Janesta (Lloyd), Yvonne (Jeffery) and Ford (Wanda); and her siblings-in-law, Doris (Harry), Donna, Bud (Lorraine) and Leslie (Nancy).
Interment will follow at the Salvation Army section of the Deer Lake Interdenominational cemetery, Wight's Rd., In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel in Deer Lake in Mom's/June's memory.
