We bid farewell to Russell Henry Phillip Reid (Deer Lake, Newfoundland), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 2, 2026 at the age of 86. Russell touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Douglas Reid and Alice Reid; his parents-in-law, Henry and Bride Cross; his great grandchild Lola Young; his brother Willis Reid (Joan); and his siblings-in-law, Margaret Janes (Doyle), Gert Janes (Oliver), Grace Bailey (George), Patricia Stewart, Julie Wiseman (Winston), Brenda Pye (Ronald), Diane Cross, Bessie Reid and Don Cross.

He is survived by: his wife Lillian Reid; his children, Darlene Rutland (Mike), Quinton (Nancy), Nichole House (Mervin), Sheldon (Rosalind) and Carmen Stagg (Jeff); his grandchildren, Shannon Young, Phillip Reid (Monica), Jordan Reid (Kim), Meghan Lake (Trent), Quincy Reid (Cassie), Russell Reid (Vanessa), Devon House (Megan), Cody Reid (Megan), Sara House, Laura Reid (Dawson), Reed Stagg and Aria Stagg; his brothers, Eugene (Florence), Winston (Anne) and Willie (Hazel); his siblings-in-law, Jane Wilton (Bob), Melvin Cross (Wavey) and Shirley Cross; and his friend Betty Layden (family: Sandra Williams, Sheila Rumbolt, David Layden). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fillatre Funeral Home (10 Clinic Dr, Deer Lake, NL A8A1E3). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church (21 Farm Rd, Deer Lake, NL A8A1V1).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
