He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Horwood (Greenham) and John Horwood of Durrell, NL.; his siblings, James (Rowena), Ralph Horwood (Marion) and Ruby Watkins (Roy); his brother-in-law Hubert Jenkins; his son Harvey Horwood; and his grandson Bobby Pelley.
He is survived by: his wife Marjorie Leona Jenkins of Durrell; his sister Marjorie Jenkins; his daughters, Christine Pelley (Jim) and Roseann Lewis (Howard); his daughter-in-law Joan Horwood; his grandchildren, Jason Pelley (Melissa), Scot (Michelle), Stephen Lewis (Jennifer), Terry (Gerri), Trevor (Crystal) and Todd Horwood (Lindsay); and his great grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Avery, Nathan, Ella, Tyler, Aaron, Abigail, Ashton, Hannah, Emily and Isaac.
Donations may be given in Melvin's memory to the Central United Church Twillingate, Organ Fund.
