She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Abbott and Alice Abbott; her parents-in-law, Norman Caines, James and Ettie Simms; her grandmother-in-law Alexander Caines; her grandparents, Emma Coombs, Bessie Abbott and James Coombs; her brother Berkley Abbott; her niece Kelly Simms; her aunt Rose Clouter; and her siblings-in-law, Corwin Meade, Eric Simms, Norman Simms, Hartlem Simms, Stanley Simms, Norma Simms, Winnie Kendall, Ada Simms and Madeline Coombs.
She is survived by: her husband Thomas Simms; her children, Berkley Simms (Paula), Tonya Hillier (Rodney) of Fortune and Christa Simms (Tony) of Fortune; her grandchildren, Lorne, Jason, Alicia, Nathan and Dylan; her great grandchildren, Adaline, Mallory and Arthur; her mother-in-law Elizabeth Caines; her sisters, Beulah Piercey, Bessie Meade and Sharon Smith (Sam); her sisters-in-law, Hazel Newport (Gordon), Mary Burke and Georgina Cooper (Fred); her brother Wayne Abbott (Christine); her brothers-in-law, Ron Simms (Jane), Earl Kendall and Gar Simms; and her friend Sandra Durnford (Merrill).
