With sadness, we share the passing of Cecilia Pearson (Fortune, Newfoundland). Cecilia passed away on September 12, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William "Bill" Pearson; her son Leonard Pearson; her parents, Peter Jones and Irene Jones; and her siblings, Pius, Tom (Priscilla), Dolph, Gerald, Ambrose, Eugene, Florence Barry (Jack) and Lucy Grace (Richard).
She is survived by: her children, Margaret O'Keefe (Paul), Yvonne Hickey (Earl), Chris Pearson (Tammy) and Charlene Ward (Anthony); her grandchildren, Lindsey (Andrew), Leonard (Ruth), Craig, Emma and Kailey; her brothers, Peter Jones (Margaret), Felix Jones (Kay) and Anthony Jones (Angela); her sisters-in-law, Marie Jones, Sadie Jones, Marg Jones and Geraldine Jones; her close friend Rhoda King; her niece Sherri Lynn Leonard; and her caregiver Dr. Rob McCarthy.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Rosary R. C. Church. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 3:30 PM at the Holy Rosary R. C. Cemetery.
In Cecilia's memory, donations may be made to the Petite Forte Cemetery Committee.
