She was predeceased by : her siblings, Margaret Wells (Jerry) of Bridgewater, NS, Pearl Skinner (Doug) of Fortune, Nathan Marks (Mary), Seaward Marks (Rose), Janet Symes (Edwin) and Lucy Symes (Jack); her husband Stanley Symes; her parents, William Marks and Minnie Marks; and her grandson Matthew Symes.
She is survived by : her children, Stanley Symes (Shelly) of Fortune, Mildred Parsons (Paddy) of Fortune, Eileen Strickland (Howard) of Point May and Linda Dinn (Craig) of Fortune; her brother-in-law Arthur Symes (Elizabeth) of Fortune; her grandchildren, Cynthia Slaney (Duane), Theresa Strickland, Patrick Parsons Jr. (Anita), Derrick Parsons, Bradley Symes (Amanda), Mackenzie Dinn and Carter Dinn; her great grandchildren, Christina Pye, Jonah Slaney, Kelsey Strickland, Bre-Ann Thorkelson, Logan Thorkelson, Bridget, Callie and Oaklynn; and her great great grandchildren, Kate Pye and Beth Pye.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 4th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Wiseman's Funeral Home (48 Marine Dr, Grand Bank, NL A0E1W0). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 5th 2021 at 2:00 PM at the All Saints Anglican Church. A burial was held on Monday, April 5th 2021 at the All Saints Anglican Cemetery (Cemetery Rd, Fortune, NL A0E, Canada A0E, Canada). In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place with a maximum of 20 people at any one time is permitted.
In Miriam's memory donations may be made to the All Saints Anglican Cemetery Fund, Fortune, or flowers gratefully accepted.
