He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Slaney (Clarke); his parents, Bertha Slaney and Rennie Slaney; his siblings, Norma Farrell (Gord), Patricia Slaney, Loyola (Gladys), Terry (Ruth), Fabian (Sheila), Adrian (Theresa), Ray, Herbert, Gerard (Jean) and Theo; and his parents-in-law, Vivian and Casmier Clarke.
He is survived by: his son Chris Slaney (Arlette) of Mount Pearl; his sisters, Gloria Ducey (Gene) of St. Lawrence and Joan Edwards (Bob) of North Sydney, NS; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Slaney and Thérèse Slaney. He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
