Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Adelaide Elliott (Gander, Newfoundland), who passed away at the age of 89, on September 21, 2025. She was predeceased by: her husband Hiram Elliott; her parents, William King and Lucretia King Collett; her stepfather Joseph Collett; her sisters, Nellie King, Miriam Ploughman (Jack), Myrtle Ploughman (Reuben) and Lucy Lush (Walter); and her in-laws, Annie Legge (Martin), Ada Pippy (Victor), Lindy Elliott (Daisy), Max Elliott (Shirley), Lloyd Hull and Robert White.
She is survived by: her children, Liska Burt (Frank) and Glenn Elliott (Mat Shield); her grandchildren, Elliott Burt (Colette) and Alyssa Lodge (Dylan); her great grandchildren, Barrett and Freya Lodge; her sister Margaret White of Ontario; and her in-laws, Maxine Hull and Doyle Elliott (Joan) of Twillingate.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Stacey's Funeral Home (60 Roe Ave, Gander, NL A1V 2E1). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fraser Road United Church (1 Brochen St, Gander, NL A1V1T3). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at the All Saints Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations in Adelaide's memory may be made to the Gander & Area Food Bank.
