We announce the death of Doris Scharpegge in Gander, Newfoundland, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her grandmother Doris (Doris); her parents, Susie Dwyer and Edward Dwyer; her husband Jim Scharpegge; her in-laws, Anna and Fred Scharpegge; her siblings, Gord, George Dwyer, Jean Buchanan and Kay Sheppard; and her siblings-in-law, Terry Oake, John Scharpegge, Jackie Scharpegge and Joanne Dwyer.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Scharpegge (Pierre), Sharon Loder (Craig) and Jim Scharpegge (Arleen); her grandchildren, Jonathan, Jennifer of Samantha, TJ, Tiffany, Alyson, Matthew and Kennedi; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Ella, Phillip, Lauryn, Kali, Josie, Eric, Goldie, George, Maverick and Mariah; her siblings, Eddie Dwyer (Cheryl), Jack Dwyer (Linda), Phillip Dwyer, Terry Dwyer, Ruth Dwyer (Dave), Pat Oake and Susan Howell (Joe); and her siblings-in-law, Doug Buchanan, Pete Sheppard and Linda Dwyer.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Sunday, October 4th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Stacey's Funeral Home (60 Roe Ave, Gander, NL A1V2E1). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (14 Bishop Pl, Gander, NL A1V1K9). A burial will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at the All Saints Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donation in Doris' memory may be made to the Gander & Area Food Bank.
