He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Josiah Leyte; his niece Melissa Leyte; his close friend Grace; his mother Gertie Leyte; his son Bradley (Karen); his granddaughters, Rebekah and Andrea; his daughter Sonya (Mike); his grandchildren, Katlyn and Noah; and his siblings, Sylvia (Woodrow), Edward (Dorothy), Marina (Brian), Gary (Karen), Dereck, Nancy, Terry (Theresa), Perry, Leroy (Kristine), Lydia (Calvin) and Josephine (Bob). He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces & nephews and his great grand nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations in George' memory may be to the Canadian Cancer Society.
