He was predeceased by: his son Darren Matthews; his parents, Arthur Matthews and Emma Matthews (Bursey); and his siblings, Dorothy Davis, Daphne Wagg, Evelyn Sparks, Virtue Budgell, Margaret Matthews, Marjorie Fostor, Sidney Matthews and Clifford Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Matthews; his children, Brenda Drover (Carl), Tony Matthews (Sandra) and Donnie Matthews (Vanessa Smith); his grandchildren, Jeffrey Drover (Kimberly Haskell), Michael MacDonald (Carissa), Lori-Lynn Brazil (Bradley), Madison Matthews, Marcus Matthews and Mackenzie Matthews; his great grandchildren, Nate Brazill, Noah Brazill, Ellis Drover and Carly Brazill; and his sisters, Harriett Lane (Larry) and Marion Legge (Harold Batt). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
