With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melva Duffett Wareham (Gander, Newfoundland), who passed away on October 12, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Major Harold Duffett; her parents, Stanley Handrigan and Janet Handrigan; her siblings, Lloyd, Wayne, Albert and Sheila; her brothers-in-law, Walt and Andy; and her stepson-in-law Winston.
She is survived by: her husband Harry Wareham; her children, Barry Duffett (Velma) of Lady Cove and Bonita Argent (John) of Sydney; her siblings, Les Handrigan (Betty), Jim Handrigan (Sheila), Betty Herridge, Kay Macvicar (John), Georgina McCoy and Patsy Burry (Herb); her grandchildren, Adam (Alyson), Erin (Greg) and Scott (Lindsay); her great grandchildren, Emmeline, Landon and Lane; and her stepchildren, Dave Wareham (Judy), Nellie Burt, Wayne Wareham (Theresa), Joyce Warford (Keith) and Jo-ann Thorne (Curt). She is also survived by many step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Melva's memory made to the Salvation Army Gander Building Fund.
