We are sad to announce that on June 30, 2020, at the age of 77, Eugene Oates of Goulds, Newfoundland passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Eugene Oates to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Oates and Rita Oates; his daughter Gina Oates; and his sisters, Mamie Learner and Marian Clements.

He is survived by : his wife Maureen Francis Oates; his daughters, Lori Lee and Linette (Bob Simon); his grandson Parker Simon; his sister Irene Chaytor (Wayne); and his brother-in-law Daniel O'Leary (Anne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In his final days, he never missed Prime Minister Trudeau's Covid-19 briefings and knew every dollar that was being spent across the country.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
