He was predeceased by: his parents, Cyril Hillier and Annie Hillier; his brothers, John and Jacob; and his sisters-in-law, Harriett Hillier, Dora Hillier and Blanche Hillier.

He is survived by: his siblings, Joan (Bruce Snook) of Fortune, NL, George Hillier of Grand Bank, Clarence Hillier of Point, Hubert Hillier of Point, Norman Hillier (Elsie) of Ontario, Leslie Hillier (Caremelita) of Point May, NL and Freeman Hillier (Christine) of Point; and his niece Tracey Smith of Creston South.
