He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Hickman; his parents, George Hickman and Harriett Hickman; and his parents-in-law, Gerald and Georgie Patten.

He is survived by: his children, Dave (Teena) and Alison (Blaine); his grandchildren, Zachary, Austin Hickman and Leah Oake (Matthew); his great grandchild Evelyn Louise Oake; and his siblings, Woody (Betty), Sim (Judy) and Phyllis Davies (Keith).
