He was predeceased by: his son Ralph Douglas Jr.; his parents, Issac Douglas and Elizabeth Douglas (Lizzie); his parents-in-law, Philip and Minnie Downey; his siblings, Sarah Jane Hillier (Abe) and Garfield Douglas (Eleanor); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Price (Don), Sarah (Sally), Fizzard (Joseph), Jessie Hanrahan (John Pad), Belinda Cox and Arthur Downey.
He is survived by: his wife May; his daughters, Betty Clancey (Jeff), Barbara Barnes (Craig) and Michelle Hoddinott (John); his daughter-in-law Susan Douglas; his grandchildren, Andrew Barnes, Nicole Clark (Justin) and Matthew Barnes (Jill); his great grandchildren, Liam Barnes, Violet Barnes and Allison Clark; and his siblings-in-law, Lloyd Downey (Rosalind), Wayne Downey (Ruby), Marina Clements (Harry), Marilyn Downey, Rosalind Downey, Melinda Cox and Georgie Forsey.
