He was predeceased by: his wife Bertha; his parents, Leah Gover and Archibald Gover; his siblings, Jim and Lillian Power; his brothers-in-law, Al Burke and Harman Mayo; and his parents-in-law, Gertrude and Walter Kavanagh.
He is survived by: his daughter Erica (Carl Drake) of Fox Cove; his siblings, John (Phoebe) of Winterland, Harold (Mary) of Marystown, Clayton (Linda) of Marystown, Cavin (Mary) of Marystown, Annie Mayo of Creston North, Eileen Burke of Marystown, Rose Cheeseman (Pat) of Brampton, ON, Beckie Dober (Phonse) of Marystown and Belle Hennebury (Dean) of Creston; and his siblings-in-law, Burdetta Gover (Stan) of Marystown and Paul Power (Alice) of Marystown.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, on Sunday, March 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Wiseman's Funeral Home (193 Main St, Burin, NL AOE 1E0 AOE1E0). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 2nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart RC Cemetery - Fox Cove.
