She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Mercer and Dorcas Mercer; her stepmother Maria Mercer; her husbands, Allen Matthews and Gord Dawe; and her siblings, Doug, Tom, Leona and Mary.
She is survived by: her children, Wayne Evans (Paula), Elmer Evans (Darlene) and Kim Benson (David); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Darcy), Trevor (Lesley), Travis, Renee (Bradley), Cory (Amanda), Natasha (Aaron) and Amanda (Robert); and her siblings, Jim, Vivian, Evelyn, Linda, Greta and Paula. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home (10 Bayley St, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL A2A2T5). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at 27 Park St, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL A2B1C7.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to The Salvation Army Park Street Citadel or the Lionel Kelland Hospice.
