He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Janes and Marian Janes; his siblings, Dave Janes (Eileen), Jim Janes, Dr. William "Bill" Janes (Gerry), Eileen Thoms (Bill) and Hannah June Simms (Reg); and his siblings-in-law, Paul Kelly, Donald Kelly, David Ryan, Freddy Knibb, Bernice Janes, Ray Bartlett and Patience Janes.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Janes; his daughters, Kelly Janes (Leon Beaudoin) and Allison Janes (Clayton Carter); his granddaughter Evie Carter; his siblings, Stephen Janes, Jean Knibb, Deanna Bartlett and Sandy Thompson (Frank); and his siblings-in-law, Mark Kelly (Sheila), Judy Kelly, Dorothy Kelly, Gertrude Ryan and Genevieve Kelly (Bob).
