He was predeceased by : his parents, Stan Rice and Dawn Rice (Lane); his former life partner Joanne Rice (Adey); his nephew Chad Rice; and his pet Licorice.

He is survived by : his wife Chrissy; his sons, Jeremy (Blake) and Jamie (Ashley); his grandson Dodger (DJ); his siblings, Max (Debbie), Jeff (Cathy), Beverley (Wince), Nellie (George) and Nicole (Brad); his father-in-law Lloyd Adey; his stepdaughter Brittany (Jamie); and his pet Holly. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Due to his failing health and COVID restrictions he was unable to fly to Edmonton to meet DJ in person.
