He was predeceased by : his parents, Hedley Young and Violet Young; his former life partner Jeannie; his mother-in-law Hyacinth Mitchell; his sister Angela Beker; his brothers-in-law, John Sheppard, Bernard Brown, Rudy Beker and Aubrey Mitchell; and his uncle Albert Young.

He is survived by : his wife Nellie; his daughters, Tina Trafford (Wayne), Terri Hoddinott (Rick) and Vanessa Rose (Dan Osborne); his father-in-law Howard Mitchell; his siblings, Joyce Sheppard, Queen Brown, Monnie Moores (Paul), Olivia Young and Don Young (Glenda); his aunt Marie; his grandchildren, Josh Hoddinott (Elizabeth), Brittney Hoddinott and Aaron Trafford (Jordan); his great grandchild Grayson Trafford; and his close friend Mary Wheeler.
