He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Matthews and Nora Matthews; his brothers, Aloysuis Matthews and Anthony Matthews; his parents-in-law, Aubrey and Olive Dyer; and his siblings-in-law, Ignatius Matthews, Ford Dyer, Harvey Blanchard, Wilton Dyer, Derick Wall, Beulah Dyer, Ann Matthews and Sharon Dyer.
He is survived by: his wife Cordella Dyer; his children, William Seal (Erica) and Lisa Matthews (Shawn Giles) of Fort MacMurray, AB; his grandchildren, Summer Giles, Deseray Giles, Zack Giles and Hunter Drover; his siblings, Gerald Matthews (Leonie), Barry Matthews (Carmelita), Michael Matthews (Betty Lou), Stephen Matthews La Scie (Leeann), Patrick Matthews, Rose Matthews of Brent's Cove and Bernadette O'Driscoll (Michael) of Fort MacMurray, AB.; his friends, Nevaeh Payne and Danielle Gillard; and his siblings-in-law, Henry Dyer (Patsy), Ben Dyer (Eva), William Dyer (Kay), Victor Dyer (Mary), Louis Dyer (Margaret), Raymond Dyer (Diane), Lester Dyer (Mildred), Effie Drover (Michael), Florance Regular (Claude), Melissa Regular (Aldret) and Ethel Wall.
