He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Roberts and Cecilia Roberts; his parents-in-law, Sidney and Deborah House; and his sister-in-law Cynthia House.

He is survived by: his wife Greta (House); his children, Verna, Glenda (Bobby), Walter Jr. (Angela) and Bonita (Byron); his grandchildren, Ricky, Rebecca, Ryan, Jeffery, Robin, Stephanie, Aletha, Moya, Michaela, Sidney and Chloe; and his sister Marie (Bill Gatehouse).
