He was predeceased by : his parents, Graham Rogers and Laura Rogers; his parents-in-law, Murley and Madge Berkshire; his sisters, Gertie, Joyce and Vera; and his brother-in-law Kevin King.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn; his children, Nancy (Steve) and Trevor (Cristina); his grandchildren, Birch, Eva and Niza; his siblings, Cal (Arlene), Hughie (Bev), Norma March (Wayne), Pat Reid (Dennis), Wanda Skinner (George) and Arlean King; and his siblings-in-law, Bruce Berkshire (Ivy), Randy Berkshire (Rose), Ed Berkshire (Neta), Margie Hart (Bond), Beverly Penney (Jim) and Pam Tremblett (Sterling). He is also survived by nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Merrill's memory to Central United Church.
