He was predeceased by: his son Rodney; his parents, Roy Chaytor and Phoebe Chaytor; his siblings, Debbie Metcalfe and Allan Chaytor; and his in-laws, William and Laura Stringer.

He is survived by: his wife Linda; his children, Lori, Brad (Edwin) and Cory (Jean); his grandchildren, Katie, Colby and Nick; and his siblings, Elizabeth Power and Roger Chaytor (Brenda). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
