It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Hamlyn (Holyrood, Newfoundland), who passed away on January 7, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Henry Hamlyn to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Hamlyn (Davis); his parents, Margaret Hamlyn and Arthur B. Hamlyn; his stepfather Jack Renouf; his siblings, Arthur Hamlyn, Regina Hamlyn, Mary Ewert and Linda Worthman; his mother-in-law Hilda Davis Keough (Hubert); and his siblings-in-law, Peggy Lewis (Kevin), Billy Davis (Jeane), Ray Worthman and Craig Dobbin.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Hamlyn, Michael Hamlyn (Suzanne) and Heather King (John); his grandchildren, Liam Hamlyn, Keghan Hamlyn, Maghee Hamlyn, Emma Hamlyn, Christopher King and Jane King; his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Hamlyn (Arthur), Elaine Dobbin (Craig), Maureen Beaton (Cyril), Jeane Davis (Billy), Terry Keough (Roberta) and David Ewert (Mary); his friend Gloria MacDonald; and his stepsiblings, Heather O'Regan, Suzanne Stack and Keith Renouf (Michelle). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dunphy's Funeral Home (366 Conception Bay Hwy, Holyrood, NL A0A2R0). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church North Side (79 Northside Rd, Holyrood, NL A0A2R0). The inurnment was held on Wednesday, January 14th 2026 at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
