He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen; his sons, Michael and Gerard "Junior"; his parents, Michael Meaney and Izabella Meaney; his parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Marrie; his siblings, Bridget Anna Power, Maria Lidstone, Bill Meaney and Gord Roberts (Dot); and his siblings-in-law, Joe (Winnie), Richard (Marie), Adrian Marrie, Hannah Robinson and Theresa Bruce.

He is survived by: his daughters, Anna (John), Tina and Christine (Jack); his grandchildren, Angela, Jennifer, Kayla, Sara and Adam; his great grandchildren, Jack, Connor, Ivy and Owen; his sister Susan Foley; his sisters-in-law, Frances Ryan, Carmel Marrie and Clara Farrell; and his nephew Don Power. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and lifelong friends.
