He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera and Derm; and his brother Dean. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Lilly, Calli, Jace, Anna and Rylee; his children, Leah and Devon; his siblings, Marilyn (Paul), Laura (Ed), Chris (Connie), Eddy (Janice), Claudette (John) and Carmella (Dave); and his friend Kevin Butland. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
His professionalism and dedication were so well-regarded that, upon his retirement, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald took time during a COVID-19 public briefing to honour Neil's contributions—a recognition that meant a great deal to him and his family.
