She was predeceased by: her husband James Penney; her daughter Nola; her grandson Paul Hodder; her parents, Alphonso Purchase and Clara Purchase; her parents-in-law, Sidney and Clara Penney; her siblings, Ralph (Marion), Doug, Alex, Blanche (Garland), Jean (Harvey), Anetta (Edward) and Melinda; and her sister-in-law Diane Purchase.

She is survived by: her children, Eldred (Rhonda), Lorne (Hilda), Donna (Fred), Darlene (Cluney), Barry (Joanne), Mavis (Dean), Roxanne (Paul), Gloria (Chris) and Sonia (Glenn); her grandchildren, Jonathan, Pamela (Bob), Joshua (Kelly), Jody (Ashley), Justin (Kandace), Jason (Amanda), Melanie (Justin), Jessica (Justin), Brandon (Sarina), Jasmin (Andrew), Troy, Alyssa, Bruce (Holly), James, Madison (Patrick), Mackenzie, Meghan (Morris), Sara, Lukas (Alayna), Nola (Billy), Nathan (Martin) and Nikita (Mark); her great grandchildren, Xander, Aaron, Evan, Jakob, Noah, Luca, Levi, Callie, Jayden, Jordyn, Katie, Leya, Rayhan, Lailah, Amelia, Jacob, Luke, Logan, Ophelia, Octavia, Gage, Mia and Thomas; her brother Reuben Purchase (Wanda); and her sisters-in-law, Eileen Purchase and Sheila Purchase.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Salvation Army Church (Main St, Horwood, NL A1V 2E1). A funeral service was held on Monday, February 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
