It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Fitzgerald (Kilbride, Newfoundland), who passed away on September 7, 2023, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Edward Fitzgerald; her son Francis; her parents, Patrick Connors and Isabelle Connors; her siblings, Mary Lambe (Tom), John (Rita), Jerome, Ellen Murphy (Redmond), Monica MacDonald (Adam), Theresa Martin (Max), Patrick and Elizabeth; her parents-in-law, James and Ellen Fitzgerald; and her sisters-in-law, Mary O'Leary (Ron) and Rita Keough (Pat).
She is survived by : her children, Linda (Howard Vaughan), James, Madonna (Patrick Reardon) and Tony (Cindy); her grandchildren, Christopher (Jeff Whillans), Sara (Andrew Bown), James (Alicia), Susan, Justin (Erika), Amanda and Jessica; her great grandchildren, Thomas, Rachel, Sophia, Madison, Simon and Alek; her nephew Dermot MacDonald; and her sisters-in-law, Theresa Marshall (late Dee) and Shirley Connors (late Patrick).
Flowers graciously accepted or donations in Rita's memory can be made to St. Theresa's Building Fund or St. Vincent de Paul.
